Lewis Arquette (14 December 1935 – 10 February 2001) was a veteran film actor, writer and producer, whose best known role was as "J.D. Pickett" on the long-running CBS-TV series, The Waltons, where he worked from 1978–1981. Lewis assumed the role of Sam Franklin, Alice's butcher boyfriend turned husband, in the 1988 ABC-TV Christmas holiday film A Very Brady Christmas.
Life and career[]
Born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, Lewis was a part of the famous Arquette family and the father of actors Patricia, Alexis, Rosanna, David and Richmond Arquette. He was the father-in-law of actress Courteney Cox and actor Thomas Jane and the former father-in-law of actor Nicolas Cage.
Arquette died in Los Angeles, California in 2001, due to congestive heart failure.
