Will the Real Jan Brady Please Stand Up? is the fifteenth episode of Season 2 of The Brady Bunch, and the 40th overall episode of the series. Written by Bill Freedman and Al Schwartz and directed by Peter Baldwin, it premiered 15 January 1971 on ABC-TV.
Jan thinks she is being shunned at school because of her blonde hair, so she buys a black wig and plans to show off her new hairdo at a party.
Peter and Jan are invited to Lucy Winters' party. Peter is reluctant to attend. What Peter doesn't know is that his crush, Margie Rimple, who is always following him around against his will, is also going to be there. Jan's invitation being addressed to Marcia makes Jan think that she is the invisible sister. To make herself stand out from both Marcia and Cindy, Jan decides to buy a short, curly, black wig. Although she initially tries to hide the wig from her family, everyone eventually finds out. They all think Jan looks ridiculous. But Jan is determined to show the world her new look. The party-goers believe Jan playing a joke, and she runs home in tears. Jan's friends show up to explain no offense was intended: they thought it was a joke because Jan's real hair is so beautiful.
